What Palominos are: Color not Breed of Horse

Tribute for Fitch who was a red sorrel (reddish-brown) unwanted Palomino colored foal. And like Abercrombie, his brother -- both were sent to auction in Edensburg, Western Pennsylvania to be bought by killer buyers. Both mother mares could not be saved but Fitch and Abercrombie were purchased by Pure Thoughts, Inc. Horse/Foal Rescue Foundation of Florida and South Carolina. This is in loving memory of Fitch who died unfairly because of traumatic injuries and blood loss sustained in a cruel abduction attempt this past Sunday evening March 4, 2007. Specialty Veterinarian Team of 12 at the University of Georgia spent 7 hours desperately trying to save Fitch but at 11:56 EST on Monday evening, March 5th, they let him pass peacefully into horse heaven where Barbaro was there to greet him. His struggle to live will not be forgotten and will forever be remembered by Barbaro's Fans. Donations to help save more reddish sorrel Palomino foals and Thoroughbreds will be made in Fitch's and Barbaro's memory and honor!

You see below the standard coloring that most people find in a Palomino bred horse, even though technically, Palomino refers to the dark blond beige coloring of the horse and not the breed itself according to Furry Critter's Network Palomino Horse Breeders of America.
